  4. Robin, Let's do it next time! :) This has been so fun, I want to change my list or add more. I've been reading the blog and laughing out loud at times.

We are STILL waiting to hear on the job. Anyone do Esther? Remember video 5 when she talks about waiting on God and not the "thing". Oh, it's so hard!

Let's hear some more Ladies, this is really fun!

  5. I agree, Sandi - I want to change my list &/ or add more things as I think of them.
It's fun finding out all the quirky and not so quirky things about one another!!
I hope everyone else will post their list. It helps us to see how alike and also how individual we all are!
I do remember Session 5 of Esther and thought it was the highlight of the whole study!!

Robin, I need you to come and teach me how to let my dog know that I am the boss!

Lynn, I'd love for you to come and visit me as well. You and I have a lot in common, with the exception of growing flowers - but you could help me with that :-)

  6. I'm with you Judi I could add a whole new list!! We are even more alike Judi in that I have often "fixed" books on the shelves in our local Christian book store. I managed a bookstore and I just know how those books should be arranged!!! LOL

Robin I wish you were close by and could teach me to back up a trailer, I can't tell you how many times I tried to do that and just couldn't get it. As you can well imagine it caused a few interesting conversations between my husband and I living on a ranch where we were often hauling things in trailers!!

Sandi I remember that very clearly from Esther, it really impacted me too. Waiting is SO HARD. I'm praying for that perfect job God has for your family. We would be great gardeners together. I just grow flowers and herbs in containers now but on the ranch I had 2 huge vegetable gardens that kept us fed all year. Lots of freezing, canning and pickling in my "other life" as I call it. Miss it a lot at times.

  7. Sandi - I'm a good delegator - I get my kids to do most of the housework. Don't know what I'll do when they all leave home!!

Be sure to read Beth's post for today and see her comments on this "10 things" list! It is really hilarious!!

  8. Sandi, Here is a really great devotional on waiting that I read yesterday out of "Jesus Calling".

"Waiting on me means directing your attention to Me in hopeful anticipation of what I will do. It entails trusting Me with every fiber of your being, instead of trying to figure things out yourself. Waiting on Me is the way I designed you to live; all day, every day. I created you to stay conscious of Me as you go about your daily duties. I have promised many blessing to those who wait on Me: renewed strength, living above one's circumstances, resurgence of hope, awareness of My continual Presence. Waiting on Me enables you to glorify Me by living in deep dependence on Me, ready to do My will. It also helps you to enjoy Me; in My Presence is fullness of Joy." Ref. Lam 3:24-25, Is 40:31, and Ps. 16:11

  9. Robin, I hope you don't mind if I copy and print these words. I had a situation come into my life just yesterday that may have me
"waiting" yet again and it will be a geat reminder that God is in control and He will provide! I know that so well but sometimes I need a reminder in front of me.

  10. You ladies have been such a blessing to me, encouragement when I need it and a laugh when I need it too. Robin, this devotional hit the spot just right. I think I will too copy it and read it over and over. Waiting is so hard. But as I reflect over this past year, He's been so faithful. His provision has come in ways I wouldn't have chosen but it's still provision. And his blessings have come in ways I never could have predicted or planned. His hand was so evident.

This past month we've been house sitting for some friends, they come home next week so we go back to our families basement. Would you all pray that I have grace to do that? I'm dreading it because it's been a tough place to live. We've seen things in Doug's family that we didn't know were there and living with it is so hard.

I'm scared I'll fall into depression like I did last fall when we moved in. (God miraculously delivered me from that in late Nov but it was deep) I want to be grateful and not mean spirited. I also want to be graceful. Oh, it's so hard to keep this mouth shut sometimes! Pray an angel will come and close it if he has too :)

Thanks you guys for your prayers and encouragement. Have any of you read The Making of a Leader by Dr. J. Robert Clinton? Doug just finished it and wants me to read it, he says it really spoke to him about what we've been going through this past year. It sounds good, but I need to get caught up in SLI first.
